Rep. Ilhan Omar continues to feel the consequences of her recent anti-Semitic tweets. Now Vice President Mike Pence is adding his condemnation to the furor of voices that include President Trump’s.
The stream of scathing rebukes come after Omar suggested that politicians have only taken an interest in Israel because of lobbyist pay outs.
Omar has since received criticism from members of both parties, with only equally radical socialists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez coming to her aid.
Pence’s call for Omar to step relinquish her duties on the Foreign Affairs committee closely echo President Trump’s call for Omar to completely step down.
“I think she should either resign from Congress or she should certainly resign from the House Foreign Affairs Committee,” Trump shared with reporters gathered in the Cabinet Room.
Even House Speaker Nancy Pelosi openly chastised the comments saying, “Congresswoman Omar’s use of anti-Semitic tropes and prejudicial accusations about Israel’s supporters is deeply offensive.”
Omar, who represents Minnesota has since apologized but has given no indication that she would step down.
