Trump to set rules for military transgender ban

The White House is expected to send guidance to the Pentagon in coming days on how to implement a new administration ban on transgender people in the military, issuing a policy that will allow Defense Secretary Jim Mattis to consider a service member’s ability to deploy in deciding whether to kick them out of the military.

The White House memo also directs the Pentagon to deny admittance to transgender individuals and to stop spending on medical treatment regimens for those currently serving, according to U.S. officials familiar with the document.

The 2½-page memo gives Mr. Mattis six months to prepare to fully implement the new ban, according to these officials.

Mr. Mattis under the new policy is expected to consider “deployability”—the ability to serve in a war zone, participate in exercises or live for months on a ship—as the primary legal means to decide whether to separate service members from the military, the officials said.

The policy was announced by President Donald Trump in a series of tweets on July 26, which effectively reinstated a ban on open transgender service that had been lifted the year before, under former President Barack Obama, in a move that also provided for military medical care for the condition known as gender dysphoria.

We’ve spent HUGE money to train these soldiers who have volunteered to protect us. Many transpeople are decorated leaders, with multiple deployments. The Pentagon says there are 6000 currently serving. what a waste to lose them. Will Trump send his two draft-age sons to replace some? what do we tell the reported 135,000 members of the Transexual Veterans of America, most of whom waited until leaving the service to transition? Even the Pentagon says they weren’t asked their opinions, and that health services to transpeople don’t even come close to ED treatments (Viagara, Cyalis, etc). Appears to be another huge misstep for Trump.

i dont think we have to pay for a tranny……sometimes its better just to take the loss !!!

Most of them are just as good as you are, maybe better. They should be able to join the service or be drafted whichever.

I think it’s the other way around. It’s you. I’ve met gays that can do the same as anyone that is straight. Guaranteed some of them are nothing but wimps.

Many of those are not good for the taxpayer only the takers…. try again
When Brown versus Topeka was decided in the The Supreme court, Eisenhower was president.
40 hour work week failed in 1866. Illinois passed a law in 1867 and President Grant issued a proclamation. It did not happen overnight.
The biggest booboo is the Civil Rights act that Republicans pushed. IF Nixon had been in the Democrats would have blocked it.. Nice try though.
Remember people actually look up things claimed. I am not going through the list because if I can disprove one the list is not honest.

We do not want to pay for genital mutilation of healthy organs. Some men have been hit in the penis and require surgery and drugs to perform normally. Some never get function . To compare an injury to self mutilation is not honest and disgusting. Why should any of these men be denied timely treatments because some man is getting his penis removed and breast implants? Those are cosmetic for women and if they think they are women it should be cosmetic for them too.

To assess their deployablity is fair. They can pay for their own hormones.
The question is… are they serving to get free surgeries?
