President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign promise to build a wall along the United States’ southern border was one of the main reasons why millions of concerned citizens voted for the Republican candidate.
On Wednesday, the nation’s key expert on border policies and necessities further legitimized Trump’s proposal during a hearing with the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
Border Patrol Chief Mark Morgan confidently told the committee that our border with Mexico needed more “fencing” because fencing has been shown to be effective, the Washington Examiner reported.
“Do we need more fencing? Yes,” Morgan said.
“Does it work? Yes,” he added.
Morgan testified for two hours in front of the committee, chaired by Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson, and repeatedly endorsed Trump’s proposed wall.
