Trump vexed by challenges

The new president’s allies say he has been surprised that government can’t be run like his business.

Being president is harder than Donald Trump thought, according to aides and allies who say that he’s growing increasingly frustrated with the challenges of running the massive federal bureaucracy.

In interviews, nearly two dozen people who’ve spent time with Trump in the three weeks since his inauguration said that his mood has careened between surprise and anger as he’s faced the predictable realities of governing, from congressional delays over his cabinet nominations and legal fights holding up his aggressive initiatives to staff in-fighting and leaks.

The administration’s rocky opening days have been a setback for a president who, as a billionaire businessman, sold himself to voters as being uniquely qualified to fix what ailed the nation. Yet it has become apparent, say those close to the president, most of whom requested anonymity to describe the inner workings of the White House, that the transition from overseeing a family business to running the country has been tough on him.

Trump often asks simple questions about policies, proposals and personnel. And, when discussions get bogged down in details, the president has been known to quickly change the subject — to “seem in control at all times,” one senior government official said — or direct questions about details to his chief strategist Steve Bannon, his son-in-law Jared Kushner or House Speaker Paul Ryan. Trump has privately expressed disbelief over the ability of judges, bureaucrats or lawmakers to delay — or even stop — him from filling positions and implementing policies.

Businesses have to follow the laws. If businessman commit crimes and are caught by the civil servant class , jail or fines may be imposed. If government commit crimes for the most part depending how powerful the individual or how much dirt they have on more powerful people they will walk.

You’re 100% correct on both points, there have been many examples of it.

      • myfordtruck

you got that right look at Obama ,Clintons ,Pelosi and a bunch that are still walking around

        • twojakes

I wonder why stupid people thin everything is political

  • Ricarrdo estavans

One more thing. Trump had better watch out for the assassins and pedophiles. He must stay out of the bushes. Just ask jfk jr. Oh I forgot he was assassinated by the same group who killed his father. Those bushes have really big thorns.

He was getting close to the truth or maybe like his uncle Bobby he just couldn’t prove it “Not Yet” Bobby knew who did it, he should never have told these snakes that he knew they did it but couldn’t prove it, “Not Yet” if he hadn’t uttered those two words he might have been successful.

When you read “requested anonymity “, the article is unreliable.

Maybe President Trump find the task difficult, but look, what problems have his savvy, experienced predecessors solved? ……zip!

  • The_Frog_Prince

It’s only been three (3) weeks and look at how much he has accomplished even with the obstructionists trying everything they can. He’ll do fine.

    • Bettye Speed

Frog Prince: Finally! Someone who recognizes that Rome certainly wasn’t built in a day,but that the US Press (including this article from biased Politico) is doing its utmost to undermine all of Trump’s efforts. Soon he’ll have a Cabinet to rely on and not have to do everything himself- which will probably bore him silly!

      • The_Frog_Prince

It took Obama 8 years to screw the tax payers of this country and all we have to show is an additional 10 trillion dollars added to the national debt.

  • dw

President Trump has done more in 3 weeks than the previous administration did in 8 years. And there’s more messes to clean up than any president has ever faced! And don’t forget that b.h.o. and his liberal cohorts are working hard behind the scenes to delegitamize him! I am so very thankful for him and his dedication to safety, law & order, and fairness for All Legal American Citizens! God Bess You, President Trump. I keep you and your family in my prayers !

What President Trump Is seeing is how messed up this country is. When you put democrat/communists in office you get what you deserve a govern spending machine that doesn’t use logic and robs the people of liberty in order to hide their socialist bent. Hey 20 T in dept is really stupid. Here is a cure put a demo/communist in office and shoot for 30T. Dumb&dumber.

    • hpinnc

That’s what they want to do, bankrupt the country so they get back in office to finish building the communist utopia right here in America. They know it is a disaster everywhere it has been tried, but they think [the elite] they have the expertise to implement it correctly. Most of us lower class of working ppl. are to stupid to handle big things like setting up a New World Order. This is something for the elite, the educated, from the big Ivy League universities, or the Hollywood elitists like Lady Gaga or Ashley Judd. Now there are some real brilliant minds we should take heed to. My greatest fear is if Mr.Trump is able to accomplish just a few of the things he has promised to do, next time the liberal/marxist/democrats will vote him out & they will proceed to finish wrecking the country

He is a business man he hires people with specific skills to do the needed work. When the senate finally lets him put that team to work things will get done. The socialist/ communist element in the senate needs to admit defeat so we can start healing our country.

    • cheetah

Their way of admitting defeat is what they’re doing now. Giving him hell by wasting time to get things done for us & the country. They don’t care who gets hurt or how bad the country gets hurt. They also don’t realize how they’re screwing themselves. Re-elections are coming up next year, and the more they screw us, the more of their supporters say they’re voting for the other party opponent. They know Trump will get his way, they just making sure he has to go thru hell to do it. Causes slow down thus less gets done. Typical left wing, queer, socialist i.e. Nazi, demo, blm way of thinking/behaving

    • hpinnc

Won’t never happen, Marvin. The marxist/socialist/liberal democrats in congress are going to nit/pic everything he tries to do & the liberal news media are going to try to put up road blocks every way they can.

  • myfordtruck

I am with Wes down there when they won’t give name don’t believe it besides when you have judges make illegal orders what can you do glad they are trying to divide the nutty 9 up

  • DollyT

Under current Political circumstances do any of you know anyone who would not be vexed? If you do…tel us!

  • joem034

He has done an amazing amount of promise keeping in such a short time and once they weed out all the left over leakers and spies from the last administration, so much more can be done. and hopefully he will be able to appoint enough judges who will actually follow the constitution instead of trying to rewrite it and the slide of this great country into the septic tank we are heading for can be reversed.

  • Colleen Gill Rotter

There are people who want him to fail and are throwing everything they can at him ! I can’t believe all of the C##P the losers are throwing in his way ,,,, but it will come back to BITE THEM !

  • ReaperHD

That’s the SWAMP he wants to drain holding in the plug to the drain.
