Carl Higbie, a former Navy SEAL who has written two books about his tours of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom, is being considered for a job in President Trump’s communications team, according to The Daily Caller.
Higbie has long been considered a front-runner for a position in the Trump White House, particularly due to his high media profile and rock-ribbed conservatism.
However, he was originally more interested in serving in the Department of Defense or the State Department. A source within the White House told The Daily Caller that he was now willing to look at a position within the communications department.
Higbie wrote in a Twitter post that he has talked with the administration about his possible roles, but that he did not officially interview for any position. This came in response to rumors that Higbie was going to be tapped as a replacement for White House press secretary Sean Spicer.
